Peridot

Peridot is a gemstone variety of the mineral olivine, composed of magnesium iron silicate. It is known for its distinctive lime to olive green colour, caused by the presence of iron. Peridot forms deep in the Earth's mantle and is brought to the surface by volcanic activity. Significant sources of peridot include Egypt, Myanmar, Pakistan, Tanzania, and the United States.
