Tiger's Eye

Tiger's Eye is a metamorphic rock known for its golden to red-brown colour and silky lustre created by its fibrous structure. It's a member of the quartz group. It exhibits chatoyancy, or 'cat's eye' effect, due to the parallel inter-growth of quartz crystals and altered amphibole fibres. Tiger's Eye typically forms in metamorphic rocks and is primarily sourced from South Africa, Australia, India, and the United States.
