Often labelled as selenite, satin spar is the fibrous variety of gypsum – white to pearly in colour with a soft, silky shimmer caused by its parallel crystal fibres. Unlike true selenite, which forms in clear prismatic crystals or flat plates, satin spar has a more fibrous, chatoyant appearance and is commonly used in polished forms. 

In crystal healing, it’s linked to cleansing, clarity, and gentle energetic flow. These tumbled stones are ideal for clearing stagnant energy – perfect for use in grids, cleansing other crystals, or placing around your home for calm and clarity.

SOURCING INFORMATION

We work with a Gem Dealer whose preferred Moroccan source for Selenite products, is a small family run business that specialises in production of rough and polished Selenite. A locally owned and government licensed quarry produces most of the rough material.

A small workshop employs local men and women as freelance workers and employees in the production, grading and packing processes. No children are used in the process and the money generated flows directly back to the local population. Wages are three times the local average for manual labour are paid to attract and keep skilled workers.

Our Gem Dealer has been involved with Morocco for over 30 years and has an extensive network of contacts and they have visited most, if not all of the producers used.

We do our best to consciously source crystals and to be transparent about supply chains. We would never knowingly work with a supplier who does not align with our values.
